Love Letters Cast List & Ticket Info

By: A.R. Gurney
Directed By: Stacy Madson

Performance Location:
Liberace Auditorium
5048 W. Greenfield Ave.
West Milwaukee

The Cliff Notes:
When Andrew Makepeace Ladd III accepts an invitation to Melissa Gardner’s birthday party, and Melissa writes a thank-you note to ask just why he got her “The Lost Princess of Oz” (answer: she looks like a lost princess), a romantic friendship and correspondence destined to last for almost half a century is born. Both from affluent, East Coast families — Melissa has more money, but Andy has better parents — the friends communicate with each other through angst-ridden boarding school experiences, European adventures, failed marriages, and the ups and downs of career. Over the course of their lives, Andy and Melissa’s relationship goes through many changes, as the sometimes-sweethearts/sometimes-friends go through periods of estrangement, and the intense, clandestine affair which will accelerate Melissa’s emotional breakdown. Despite the painful differences which will ultimately tear them apart, they remain each other’s most trusted confidante, and are “true lovers” on paper, if not on the earth. A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters is a tender, tragi-comic, and nuanced examination of the shared nostalgia, missed opportunities, and deep closeness of two lifelong, complicated friends.

The Nerd Cast List & Ticket Info

By: Larry Shue
Directed By: Mary Beth Topf

Performance Location:
Liberace Auditorium
5048 W. Greenfield Ave.
West Milwaukee

The Cliff Notes:
Now an aspiring young architect in Terre Haute, Indiana, Willum Cubbert has often told his friends about the debt he owes to Rick Steadman, a fellow ex-GI whom he has never met but who saved his life after he was seriously wounded in Vietnam. He has written to Rick to say that, as long as he is alive, “you will have somebody on Earth who will do anything for you” —so Willum is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly at his apartment on the night of his thirty-fourth birthday party. But his delight soon fades as it becomes apparent that Rick is a hopeless “nerd” —a bumbling oaf with no social sense, little intelligence and less tact. And Rick stays on and on, his continued presence among Willum and his friends leading to one uproarious incident after another, until the normally placid Willum finds himself contemplating violence—a dire development which, happily, is staved off by the surprising “twist” ending of the play.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Cast List and Ticket Information

By: Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield
Directed By: Mary Beth Topf

Performance Location:
Liberace Auditorium
5048 W. Greenfield Ave.
West Milwaukee

The Cliff Notes:
Want a show that parodies the plays of the great William Shakespeare? Think that Shakespeare is normally too long to go see? Do you lose count of how many characters there are in Shakespeare’s shows? Do you want actors to break the fourth wall and talk to you and with you rather than at you?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then do we have the show for you! For those keeping track, that would be 37 plays in less than two hours. That’s only a little over $2 per play. An amazing value!

The Cast List:
This is one of those shows….everyone is playing tons of Shakespearean characters. So many in fact, we’re just going to list the great talent that we’ll have on the stage. You can try and put the show character names to the people!

The Game Is Afoot!

Facebook Header

Steven Dietz’s play based on the original 1899 play by
William Gilette and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

 October 6, 7, 13, 14, 2017, at 7:30 pm
October 15, 2017, at 2:00 pm

The world’s greatest detective has seemingly reached the end of his remarkable career when a case presents itself that is too tempting to ignore: The King of Bohemia is about to be blackmailed by a notorious photograph, and the woman at the heart of this crime
is the famous opera singer, Irene Adler.
With his trusted companion, Doctor Watson, at his side, Sherlock Holmes pursues first the case, and then the affections of Miss Adler—and in doing so, marches right into the lair of his longtime adversary, that malevolent genius of crime: Professor Moriarty.
In this spirited, fast-moving and thoroughly theatrical adaptation,
Steven Dietz presents Holmes at the height of his powers—
surrounded by all the elements that fans of his exploits have come to expect:
danger, intrigue, wit, humor and surprise.
“The game is afoot, Watson—and it is a dangerous one!”
